Yojoe.com is legendarisch! Help nu mee het voortbestaan van dit platvorm veilig te stellen door het tekenen van deze petitie!!!
Vanaf het moment dat ik deze website ontdekte kan ik eigenlijk niet meer zonder. Of het nu de figuren, voertuigen of comics van G.I. Joe betreft, als ik iets wil weten dan is dit mijn bron van kennis. Als ik een los wapentje niet kan plaatsen bij een figuur, of als ik niet weet bij wel figuur een helmpje hoort, dan dan biedt "WHOBIT" de uitkomst! Er gaat werkelijk geen week voorbij zonder dat ik deze website raadpleeg, soms dagelijks, en soms uren aan een op een dag. Het is gewoon onmisbaar voor een fan en verzamelaar.
Een jaar geleden ongeveer werd de website verkocht en sinds die tijd zijn de mensen die de website altijd bijhielden buitengesloten, zodat zij geen updates meer kunnen doen. Dat is op zich al zonde genoeg, want er is veel nieuw materiaal bijgekomen wat de website up to date zou kunnen maken, wat nu missend is. Maar er gaan geluiden rond dat de stekker er wel eens helemaal uitgetrokken zou kunnen worden, zodat het in een andere vorm gegoten wordt waardoor het de huidige kracht zou verliezen....
Dat hoorde Mike van WOJM, en daarom is hij een petitie gestart in de hoop dit te voorkomen. En om dit tot een succes te maken is jouw hulp nodig! Wat moet je doen? Helemaal niet zo veel eigenlijk. Je kunt via deze link de petitie ondersteunen met je digitale handtekening. Vergeet niet te bevestigen via je email. Maar that's it! Dus als jij ook gebruik wilt blijven maken van deze onuitputtelijke bron van informatie, een ongeëvenaarde bron kennis als het een speelgoedlijn betreft, teken dan NU de petitie!

Yojoe.com has been the information hub of the GI Joe collecting community for over two decades. It has been an invaluable resource for lapsed collectors looking to get back into the hobby, new collectors trying to learn about the history of GI Joe, collectors trying to complete newly-purchased figures and toys, and even non-collectors looking to re-live the fun of their favorite toys from days gone by. For much of that time, Yojoe.com has been maintained by a dedicated and knowledgable staff, led by administrator Terry Dizard and photographer Philip Donnelly. Its importance cannot be measured. Yojoe.com is a unique treasure in the toy and collectible community, without peer or rival.
Since Vertical Scope purchased Yojoe.com, they have frozen Terry, Phil, and staff out of the maintenance of the site. Recently, Terry has warned the GI Joe community on Facebook of Vertical Scope's unwillingness to grant him access to maintain the site, and has stated he believes that the site's information will soon be made unavailable - potentially to be transferred to a forum database or, in the worst-case scenario, perhaps deleted altogether. Regardless, Terry has been frozen out of the decision-making process on the site that he has helped build and maintain for twenty years, and is admittedly only speculating at what could be on the horizon. Regardless, these scenarios leave us with a greatly diminshed Yojoe.com, functioning far below the standards of excellence that Terry, Phil, and the Yojoe.com staff has established over the years.
This is a horrendous oversight on the part of Vertical Scope. When Vertical Scope purchased Yojoe.com, they didn't purchase just a message board, they purchased the hub of a vibrant and dedicated community. However, without the ability to provide site maintenance, Yojoe.com will wither and die as the GI Joe community continues to grow without it.
Thankfully, a sensible solution is easily attainable - Vertical Scope could reinstate Terry Dizard's administrator permissions to Yojoe.com, and continue to reap the benefits of their investment. With full access to the site, Terry, Phil, and their staff can return to providing the necessary heartbeat to a great fan community. Please don't let Yojoe.com die!
