Let’s cut to the chase here — when G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero returns to comics with issue #301 next month it’ll sport a series of variant covers that in and of themselves will have made the wait worthwhile. Artists Brad Walker and Francesco Segala have given each issue from 301 to 305 a cover highlighting a different iconic Joe and Cobra, and boy howdy do they look pretty! Check them out in the gallery below, after these official deets from Skybound HQ…

Today Skybound, in collaboration with leading toy and game company Hasbro, debuted an incredible set of all-new G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero variant covers from comics superstar Brad Walker (Detective Comics) and Francesco Segala (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers). Kicking off the relaunch of the landmark comic series at Skybound, Walker’s covers showcase iconic G.I. JOE characters and their Cobra counterparts.

“Some of the very first comics I ever bought were early issues of G.I. JOE, and they informed much of my love of the medium. I particularly remember the covers blowing my young mind, month after month,” said Brad Walker. “Getting to contribute to that legacy is really exciting. Plus, it’s been a blast to explore these characters that I probably haven’t drawn since I was nine or ten years old. Hopefully the fun I have drawing them comes across to the fans!”

These all-new covers will appear as variants to G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #301-#305, each featuring an iconic member of G.I. JOE and an unforgettable member of Cobra, marking a new era for one of the longest running non-superhero comics of all time.  G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero launches at Skybound with legendary series writer Larry Hama (Marvel’s Wolverine) continuing his record-breaking run on the series, joined by fan-favorite artist Chris Mooneyham (DC’s Nightwing, Sgt. Rock and the Unknown Soldier) and colorist Francesco Segala breathing new life into the iconic characters. G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #301 arrives in comic book shops on November 15, 2023.
